What are you up to these days?
Right now I'm living in SLC, pounding out a semester of school at the U and waiting for the snow.
Any big plans for this upcoming season?
Man, it's tough to say, I'd really like to get in a heli soon. The winters are so unpredictable and seems like I end up wherever the snow is good. Probably shred Moonlight Basin over Christmas time and Alta when I'm in Utah.
Who do you plan to film with this season?
Level 1 for sure, Josh, Freedle, and Kyle are such good people to work with and they put together a well rounded movie.
What's your favorite thing about filming?
Just being out in the middle of nowhere with people who share the same goals and mindset as you. Every season I seem to align with more and more people who see skiing like I do and look for the same terrain and features. Its super good when it all comes together.
Do you prefer competitions or filming?
Filming for sure, although I'd like to see myself on more podiums. My strengths lie in the back country, so I need to focus on that for sure.
Backcountry kicker or terrain park?
My favorite hits consist of no build time, natural take off, good hang time and soft landing. Back country of course.
Do you listen to music while your skiing?
Sometimes, like when I'm cruising the resort or something. There are times when it's not safe to listen to music. It's important to have your ears when your in the backcountry, you need to be able to communicate to each other for safety and to coordinate shooting.
Are you a Mac or PC user? iTunes user? iPod?
Mac, iTunes, and iPod. Apple has it pretty dialed when working with media.
Does music play into your skiing at all?
Ya for sure, especially with filming. Music can make or break your movie. Music can convey the mood of the film and the attitude of the athlete and filmmaker.
